Scholarship foundation

Lars Erik Lundberg left his position as chairman of the board of Lundbergs at the general meeting in 1991. To honor him, the company founded the Lars Erik Lundberg Scholarship Foundation with the aim of supporting scientific research and postgraduate education in architecture, building technology, urban planning, housing and property management. In 1996, Lars Erik took the initiative to form another foundation, Lars Erik Lundberg's foundation for research and education, with the aim of supporting research and education in social economics, business economics and technology and to contribute to the interaction between business and academia. 

Lars Erik Lundberg Scholarship Foundation 

The purpose of the Foundation is to support scientific research in the fields of architecture, building techniques, urban planning, housing and property management. Research into housing and property management is mainly intended to illuminate the conditions for property ownership and management taking tax regulations, central and local government norms and legislation into account. 
 
The purpose of the Foundation is to be promoted primarily through the granting of personal scholarships to young research students active at technical colleges and universities in Sweden, and through scholarships to researchers who do postdoctoral work in line with the aims and directions of the foundation. 

The Foundation was established by L E Lundbergföretagen AB (publ) in connection with Lars Erik Lundberg´s retirement from the position of Chairman of the Company´s Board at the Annual General Meeting on May 6, 1991. Lars Erik Lundberg founded L E Lundbergföretagen AB in 1944 and for many years was the Company´s President and thereafter Chairman of the Board.

The Lars Erik Lundberg Foundation for Research and Education

The Lundberg Foundation for Research and Education was established in June 1996. At its formation, the Foundation´s capital amounted to SEK 50 million, donated by Lars Erik Lundberg. The Foundation statutes stipulate that the Foundation shall support scientific research within the fields of national economics, business administration and technology. The purpose of the Foundation shall be promoted primarily through grants to universities, business schools and technical colleges in Sweden, or to persons active in these institutions. All grants must be for clearly defined research efforts.
